Goodreads Description:
26-year-old Rachel Monroe has spent her whole life trying to keep a very unusual secret: she can make wishes come true. And sometimes the consequences are disastrous. So when Rachel accidentally grants an outlandish wish for the first time in years, she decides it’s time to leave her hometown—and her past—behind for good.

Rachel isn’t on the road long before she runs out of gas in a town that’s not on her map: Nowhere, North Carolina—also known as the town of “Lost and Found.” In Nowhere, Rachel is taken in by a spit-fire old woman, Catch, who possesses a strange gift of her own: she can bind secrets by baking them into pies. Rachel also meets Catch’s neighbor, Ashe, a Southern gentleman with a complicated past, who makes her want to believe in happily-ever-after for the first time in her life.

As she settles into the small town, Rachel hopes her own secrets will stay hidden, but wishes start piling up everywhere Rachel goes. When the consequences threaten to ruin everything she’s begun to build in Nowhere, Rachel must come to terms with who she is and what she can do, or risk losing the people she’s starting to love—and her chance at happiness—all over again.

I enjoy well written reviews no matter the length. What I don't enjoy is a review that simply gives a synopsis of the story/plot. I want to know how it made that reader feel, what they enjoyed about the book and what they disliked. Those are the reviews I enjoy reading.

I prefer shorter reviews. I hate it when everything is revealed !

The length of a review doesn't really matter to me as long as when I'm finished reading I understand why the person did or didn't enjoy the book. I don't like it either when reviewers just give a synopsis for the book or just retype the one on the back. If I'm writing my review on Goodreads I don't include the synopsis as it is all above. The only time a synopsis is needed with a review would be on a blog post. I've written both long and short reviews and I think they're both fine as long as you you're giving an idea of how you as a reader felt about it and not spoiling it for others.

Magical realism and foodie fiction? Yes!!

Definitely shorter and to the point. There are some that go on and on which makes me think, "Why should I even bother to read the book. You just told me everything."

I really depends on my mood. Lol

I like shorter, enough to tell me if I should read it or not. I skip portions of really long reviews.

I loved everybody's feedback on my question regarding whether you prefer long or short reviews. I'm in the camp of I don't want a synopsis and I don't want spoilers. Maybe a few teasers and then an idea of whether you liked it and maybe what other books are similar. I think I delay doing a lot of reviews because I think "I don't have time" but in reality I think my review needs to be super fancy and in-depth. I think I need to cut to the chase a bit more often. Good luck to everyone who entered my giveaway!

Granting wishes is an intriguing premise and it sounds like it was well executed.
