The Last Book Party by Karen Dukess (releasing July 9, 2019 from Henry Holt & Co.) is on a lot of my fellow book lovers' summer reading lists because even though we all love to read a variety of genres we can almost all agree that we love to read books about books (and bookstores).
Set in NYC and Cape Cod in the 1980s, 25-year-old publishing assistant and aspiring writer Eve Rosen is invited to be New Yorker writer Henry Grey's research assistant--even if that means living with her parents in Cape Cod for the summer. She is also invited to Henry and his wife Tillie’s infamous end of summer "Book Party", where guests dress as various literary characters. "But by the night of the party, Eve discovers uncomfortable truths about her summer entanglements and understands that the literary world she so desperately wanted to be a part of is not at all what it seems."
A delicious summer read, especially for book lovers who love books about books! Also, how cute is this $10 lemon bowl I picked up at TJ Maxx/HomeGoods?!🍋
